Fire Destroys Ashland Avenue Home

Two people are homeless after a fire destroyed their house early this morning. It happened just before 6 a.m. in the 700 block of Ashland Avenue. Authorities say when they got to the scene they saw heavy flames coming from the front porch. It then spread throughout the entire house. Two adults were home at the time, but they made it out okay. For safety reasons the city had to demolish the home. The Red Cross is also assisting. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
